FLOR DE MALVAJÍO: THE PUREST EXPRESSION OF THE MIJAS MOUNTAINS
Syrah · Merlot | 6 months in seasoned French oak
A singular red that borrows character from one of Antonio Mérida’s most important barrels.
Once fully formed, Flor de Malvajío spends six months in the French-oak cask that previously held Caníbal Tinto for 28 months. Every vintage brings its own surprises, making this one of the cellar’s most intriguing bottles.
The story
Flor de Malvajío begins with Syrah and Merlot, but its final six months make it truly distinctive. The finished wine rests in the French-oak barrel that previously held Caníbal Tinto for 28 months, taking on part of the depth and character left behind by that long ageing.
The result is never routine. Each vintage reveals a slightly different side of the wine, and that sense of discovery is precisely what makes opening a bottle so compelling.
Tasting notes
A vintage-led wine whose aromas and flavours can move through cherry, chocolate and truffle. The exact expression changes from year to year, but its depth, surprise and personality remain.
