MALAJE ROSÉ: THE HIDDEN GEM OF MIJAS
Syrah · Merlot | Brief skin contact
The rosé Antonio has made since the very beginning of his winery.
Malaje is made with Syrah and Merlot, but the skins stay with the wine for only a few minutes. The result is light and brilliantly fruity, yet far more complex than an ordinary easy-drinking rosé.
The story
Malaje has been part of Antonio Mérida’s cellar from the start. It is made from Syrah and Merlot, with the skins macerating with the wine for only a few minutes.
That fleeting contact leaves a rosé that feels light and immediately enjoyable while retaining genuine aromatic complexity. It is playful, precise and a delight to keep tasting as it develops in the glass.
Tasting notes
Fresh red fruit leads the wine, followed by notes reminiscent of strawberry yoghurt and, as it opens, ripe strawberries. Light on its feet, fruit-driven, complex and genuinely fun to drink.
Pairing
Pairing: Grilled prawns, ceviche, sushi, burrata salads, or Mediterranean tapas / Its balanced acidity and freshness beautifully cut through the richness of light dishes, goat cheese, and raw seafood.
